Chief Executive Officer, Board Chair

Paula joined Specialty Care in 1986 and has led the transformation of the company from four small rural homes to today’s vibrant organization. Paula uses her extensive experience in long-term care management, facility development, government relations and financial management, combined with her MSW and MBA education, to bring dynamic leadership to board of directors and the company. As CEO, Paula concentrates most of her time on long range planning.

Executive Vice President Building Development

Ray is responsible for all Specialty Care construction and development activities and the ongoing property management of the existing residences. Ray has introduced state-of-the-art safety, security and communication systems as well as energy management systems, to ensure Specialty Care communities meet the changing needs of residents. Prior to joining Specialty Care in 1992, Ray had 10 years building, development, property management and operational maintenance experience with two of the leading residential and commercial development companies in Toronto.

Chief Operating Officer

Debbie is a proven and respected senior executive, accomplished in operations, finance, change management and employee engagement.  She is a versatile and creative team player, who leads by example, manages through consensus and builds strong teams.  She is keenly interested in setting the most efficient operational standards for service delivery resulting in high levels of resident and employee satisfaction.  As Chief Operating Officer, all Long Term Care and Retirement Home operations that are owned and managed by Specialty Care fall within her portfolio.

Debbie served as President of the Ontario Retirement Communities Association (ORCA) from 2000 to 2003 and continues to participate as a board member and volunteer in several capacities. Respected in the industry and by government as a leader in the process that helped shape the new Retirement Homes Act Bill 21, she was invited to participate on the expert panel for care standards for the Retirement Home Regulatory Authority.

 

fernginsberg Fern Ginsberg, C.A.
Chief Financial Officer
Fern is a chartered accountant with over 20 years of experience in accounting and finance in both the long term care and retirement sectors, and across a range of corporate, multi-site and individual facility financial systems. Fern has applied her expertise in the development of highly sophisticated budgeting, financial variance analysis, and benchmarking systems. These systems form the foundation of Specialty Care’s strong financial management processes.

Daile Moffat, RN/MBA
Director of Quality & Management Consulting

Daile has over 20 years of experience as a nurse leader in Long Term Care. During her career she has held various positions from a front line staff nurse, Director of Care, Nurse Consultant and currently is the Director of Quality and Management Consulting for Specialty Care. She is responsible corporately for the MDS – RAI project, Quality Management, Performance Improvement, Clinical Informatics and external clients. Daile is passionate about the use of MDS data to improve resident quality of life and systems improvements for quality and safety in long term care.
