Rest & Recuperation Program
There are times in all our lives when we simply need a little extra help. Specialty Living’s Rest and Recuperation program is designed for just these occasions.
Rest and recuperation program supports those who are:
- Recovering from a serious illness or post operative procedures such as orthopedic hip or knee replacements, cardiac, eye or other surgeries
- Requiring a supportive environment for ongoing physiotherapy, nursing support or medication management
- Needing the comforts of home such as meals, housekeeping and friendship along with the peace of mind that 24-hour assistance brings
- Requiring support while loved ones are away or unavailable
Accommodation:
- Well appointed fully furnished private suite with en-suite
- Cable television and local phone calling included
- Emergency response system
- Access to lounges, fitness facilities, library, salon, bistro, theatre, General Store, etc.
- Weekly housekeeping, linens and personal laundry
Health and wellness:
- General health and nursing supervision
- In-home, or, hospital nursing assessment
- Individual plan of care
- 24-hour onsite assistance and monitoring
- Medication administration and pharmacy consult
- Specialized nursing care such as oxygen, incontinence care, bathing and dressing support
Home cooked meals and service:
- Daily home cooked nutritious meals served in our dining room with escort if needed
- In room tray service as required
- Access to refreshments and snacks 24–hours a day
Physiotherapy service:
- Available to you on site by third party provider; funded by OHIP
- Initial assessment and consultation
- Personalized plan of care including group and private one-on-one sessions designed to meet your recovery needs
We will work with you and your advocates to help you access any available funding sources such as Veterans’ Affairs, OHIP, private insurance or otherwise to maximize your resources.
